Cheesy Baked Goulash

*Ingredients

°1 pound minced beef

°2/3 cup chopped onion

°Ground black pepper to taste

°2 teaspoons chopped garlic

°1 cup pasta dry elbow

°1 15 ounces tomato sauce (or 2 8-0 ounce cans)

°1 homemade canned tomato jar cut into cubes, or 1 low sodium cube box

°1 teaspoon soy sauce

°1 teaspoon sugar

°1 teaspoon oregano dried

°2 teaspoons dried basil

°1 teaspoon dried parsley

°1 cup grated cheddar cheese

°1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese how to make it

*Methods

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place a pot of water to boil for the pasta. In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, add the burger and chopped onion, then grind over it a handful of black pepper. Cook until the beef is reddened and the onion is transparent. At the last minute or so, add the chopped garlic. Drain any grease if necessary.

When the water boils for the pasta, add the pasta and cook until just before ripening, drain and set aside. It will cook more in the oven. Meanwhile, add the tomato sauce, sliced tomatoes, soy sauce, sugar and herbs to the ground beef and stir to combine.

Or you can be like me and forget parsley until later. Next, add the cheddar (or maybe parsley if you forget) and mix until the cheese is melted. Stir in the cooked pasta until combined.

Pour into a 2-quart casserole dish sprinkled with oil. Top with mozzarella and bake for 30 minutes.

Let it rest for about 5 minutes, then serve with buttered bread and salad if you want.

Enjoy !
